Little About Us
Bindook Cottage is a family-owned early learning centre located in the peaceful community of Terrey Hills. Since opening in 2001, we have been providing high-quality early childhood education and care for local families.
Our centre offers a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued and supported as they learn and grow through play.
Our Story
Bindook Cottage was founded by Rita Totino, who has worked in early childhood education for over 35 years. Her vision was to create a small and nurturing centre where children feel a strong sense of belonging and families feel supported.
Over the years, Bindook Cottage has become a valued part of the local community. Many of our educators have been part of the Bindook family for many years, creating a familiar and consistent environment for children.
Our Educators
Our dedicated team of educators are passionate about supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing. We believe strong relationships are at the heart of early childhood education and work closely with families to create a supportive learning community.
Through meaningful experiences and play-based learning, our educators support children to develop confidence, curiosity and independence.
Our Philosophy
Bindook Cottage provides a stimulating environment that is conducive to learning. We pride ourselves on being a home away from home with an environment focused on the child to engage in play-based learning, where children feel free to play, explore, investigate, create, learn, make friends, and most importantly, feel safe and secure.
We value collaboration with the community, families, children, and support services to provide quality care and individual learning opportunities. We believe open communication fosters relationships that enhance each child’s learning and well-being. Through this partnership with families, we aim to provide a rich learning environment with opportunities to encourage the development of each child’s identity and contentedness to others.
