Information for Families

At Bindook Cottage we value strong partnerships with families and believe open communication is an important part of supporting each child’s learning and wellbeing.

This page provides helpful information to support families during their child’s time at our centre.

Helpful Information for Families

Before children begin attending Bindook Cottage, families are invited to attend orientation visits.

These visits allow children to become familiar with the environment, meet educators and begin building relationships in a comfortable and supportive way.

Starting childcare is an important milestone for both children and families.

Our educators work closely with families to support a smooth transition into care and help children feel comfortable and confident in their new environment.

At Bindook Cottage we value open communication with families and believe it plays an important role in supporting each child’s learning and wellbeing.

We use Kinderloop to share updates about children’s experiences, learning and daily activities. Through the Kinderloop app, families can view photos, learning stories and important announcements from the centre.

Families are also welcome to speak with educators at drop-off and pick-up times to share information about their child or ask any questions.

This partnership helps ensure children feel supported both at home and at the centre.

To support your child throughout the day at Bindook Cottage, families are asked to provide a few essential items.

Please ensure your child brings:

• a labelled drink bottle
• a hat for outdoor play
• a spare change of clothes
• any comfort items your child may need

As Bindook Cottage does not provide meals, families are asked to pack a labelled lunch box with food for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea each day.

Our centre also has facilities available to warm up food if required.

Please ensure all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

The health and wellbeing of all children is important to us.

Families are asked to keep children at home if they are unwell and to inform the centre of any medical conditions or allergies so that educators can provide appropriate support.
