Peek-A-Boo Cottage

Enrolment and on-going

When you enrol your child at Peek-A-Boo Cottage you will need to pay an acceptance of enrolment fee to secure a place as numbers are very limited each year; this fee is non-refundable.  The daily education and caring charge are paid monthly in advance via a direct debit and all families must complete and Ipay application form at the time of enrolment acceptance.

Complying Written Arrangement

In accordance with the Family Assistance Administration Act, a Service and Parent/Guardian must agree up-front on the arrangements for the care of a child. This is called a Complying Written Arrangement (CWA). The CWA sets out the conditions in which the child will be enrolled in the service, establishing days of attendance, fees and personal contact details to ensure families are linked in the system for government rebates. This form must be completed at the time of enrolment.

All children’s booked days must be paid for, this is inclusive of public holidays, personal/family holidays and any day the child is absent from the centre.  There is an additional fee that will be charged if your child is collected from the centre at a time later than our designated closing time.

Peek-A-Boo Cottage requires that you give 4 weeks written notice if you wish to cancel, change, or decrease the number of booked days your child has at the centre; should you fail to do this we are required to charge a fee not in access of 4 weeks full fee.  All accounts must be finalised by the final day of your child’s attendance at the centre as any outstanding amounts at this time will be forwarded to an outside debt collection agency.

Note: For current daily fee rates please contact the centre.

Government Assistance

The Australian Federal Government acknowledges that high quality child care is very important to many Australian families.  They also recognise that high quality child care plays an important role in improving children’s educational and developmental outcomes; further, child care also enables parents to participate in the workforce and the greater community.

To help with the cost of child care, the Government’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS) assists families with the following:

 Child Care Subsidy

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is the main way the Government assists families with their child care fees. It is a simple and easy to use interface for families and child care services. The CCS is designed to manage the payment and administration of the Child Care Subsidy, including accepting actual attendance times which are mandatory from 14 January 2019.

Subsidy payments are paid directly to the child care providers to reduce the fees you pay. The amount you may be eligible for depends on:

  • Your family’s income
  • The hourly rate cap based on the type of child care you use and your child’s age, and
  • The hours of recognised activities you and your partner do

Families

To make Child Care Subsidy claims and view the status of their claims, families will be able to go to my.gov.au and sign in to access their Centrelink online account. If they do not have a MyGov account, they can create one and link it to their Centrelink online account.

Eligibility basics

  • care for a child aged 13 or younger and not attending secondary school, unless an exemption applies
  • use an approved child care service
  • responsible for paying the child care fees
  • meet residency and immunisation requirements

Confirmation of enrolment

Once the centre has submitted an enrolment notice for your child, the registered parent with Centrelink will be notified and asked to review and check the main enrolment notice details. This will occur through their Centrelink online account (or Express Plus mobile app), accessed via myGov (www.my.gov.au). Where an individual parent cannot access MyGov, they can confirm their enrolment over the phone with Centrelink, or by visiting a Centrelink office.

The parent must then do one of the following:

  • confirm the enrolment – if they agree that the details are correct, or
  • dispute details of the enrolment – if there are details they do not believe reflect the arrangement that they have agreed, or
  • reject the enrolment – if the child is not enrolled at the service.

The centre can begin entering information (detailing the care actually provided) before the individual reviews the enrolment and responds. Once the enrolment is confirmed, entitlements will be calculated and payments can begin.
